🦙 Meet Our Alpacas: Glad, Stormy & Magnum

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest — and arguably cutest — members of O’Halloran Farms: our three young alpacas!

Our boys arrived from Paragon Alpacas in nearby Dickerson, MD, a highly reputable and knowledgeable breeder. Bari and her team are alpaca experts and have been incredible partners in helping us start our herd the right way. These three were raised with love, top-tier health practices, and the kind of attention that shows in their calm and curious personalities.

🧡 Meet the Trio

  • Golden Gladiator “Glad” – Born October 25, 2024
  • Sonic Storm Front “Stormy” – Born October 8, 2024
  • Magnum – Born October 3, 2024

We’re beginning with a male-only herd and have no plans to breed — just to grow a healthy, happy group of boys who love roaming our pastures and greeting visitors.

🩺 How We Care for Them

Our alpacas are part of a structured herd management plan that ensures their long-term health and well-being:

  • Monthly vaccinations to protect against meningeal worm (a parasite spread by deer)
  • Routine hoof trims to keep their feet healthy and comfortable
  • Annual shearing each spring — this not only keeps them cool in warm weather but is when they get their teeth filed, a routine part of alpaca care

We take great pride in providing chemical-free, holistic care for our animals. They live in large, clean pastures and enjoy plenty of space to explore, graze, and observe the world with those curious, intelligent eyes.

🌍 A Bit About Alpacas

Alpacas originate from the Andes Mountains of South America — particularly Peru, Bolivia, and Chile — where they have been domesticated for thousands of years. They are part of the camelid family, related to llamas, vicuñas, and camels.

When full-grown, alpacas stand around 3 feet tall at the shoulder, and weigh between 120–200 pounds. They are known for their incredibly soft fleece, gentle temperament, and expressive faces (just look at that photo!).

🐾 Come Visit

Whether you’re stopping by for a farm tour, photography session, or one of our agritourism events, we invite you to meet these gentle souls in person. You’ll fall in love just like we did.

Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more updates, fiber products, and even opportunities to walk or picnic with our alpacas soon!

From our farm to your heart — welcome to O’Halloran Farms.
